In the United States, the North isn’t always given the respect it deserves for its contributions to hip-hop culture. However, one emcee that has been growing significant buzz in the region is IshDARR. He recently gained exposure from his most recent mixtape, Broken Hearts & Bankrolls. The emcee is best known for “Too Bad”, which managed to blow up and earn a couple million plays on Soundcloud and other streaming services. The Milwaukee native’s most recent collaboration with King Canis, “SAID IT ALL”, is just as quality as his previous music. Check out the track below:
IshDARR started developing his rapping skills at a fairly young age. In seventh grade, he started to practice by freestyling and writing. He then began freestyling at parties that his older brother went to. Fast forward a few years, and he’s suddenly opening for the likes of Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul. He credits his high school music teacher for giving him the encouragement and support to follow through with his dream of being an artist. Although his style is unique, his flow is similar to that of TDE member Isiah Rashad.
