Freestyle Friday: Black Mag isn’t slowing down anytime soon

Black Mag is a Los Angeles based emcee with a sleek flow and dynamic lyricism. His SoundCloud discography only stretches back a year, with his skills slowly developing. His sound is evidently that of the West Coast, with gritty and hard raps that glide well over any production. He has been doing music for about three years, but began taking it seriously in 2015. Since then, Black Mag‘s sound has developed as he has had more of a story to tell and things to talk about. He cites Andre 3000 as one of his biggest influences coming up. His biggest song to date is “Never Play’d”, but he says he has “bigger things in store.”

Today Black Mag comes to Apex Hip Hop‘s Freestyle Friday series with a grouping of hard bars. He is seen hanging out, smoking, and rhyming while he gets Justin Floyd to flex his vocal range. It features production from Minnesota native P.Soul that allows Black Mag to harness a West Coast flow. Check it out here:
