Even though Jay IDK is traveling with Isaiah Rashad on his Lil Sunny Tour, it hasn’t stopped him from dropping new music. Yesterday he released his newest single, “Blame My Friends (The Gang)”. The Maryland-based rapper’s new track hits hard, and is similar to his previous music. To hip hop fans that are unfamiliar with Jay IDK, the track is definitely worth a listen.
Jay IDK has just come off of a successful 2016. After releasing Sex, Drugs, and Homework and Subtrap in 2014 and 2015, last year’s Empty Bank managed to earn the emcee a respectable online presence. If past trends are to continue, it seems likely that the Maryland-based rapper will release another project at some point this year.
Music wasn’t always on Jay‘s radar, and it came into his life rather unexpectedly. His life had a major plot twist when went to jail at the young age of 17. While the young teen served his time, he started writing and quickly discovered that he was talented at it. He continued to hone his writing skills and showed off to his fellow inmates. Encouraged by their feedback, Jay decided that he would try to make a career out of music once he was free from imprisonment. Fast forward a few years, and the now 23 year old has had a successful rap career. Jay credits trap music for having a strong influence on his style of hip hop.
