Freestyle Friday: ZoTheJerk doesn’t need a beat

Detroit emcee ZoTheJerk has a knack for lyricism and a smooth, old school flow. His music is reminiscent of the “Golden Era” of hip hop. Producer Frost Gamble and ZoTheJerk have a collaborative album called Black Beach coming out on May 26th that will feature artists like KXNG Crooked and Mass Appeal‘s Boldy James. Parts of Black Beach were recorded in the same studio where parts of Eminem‘s “Infinite” album were completed. The visuals for the duo’s track “Keep Me Safe” are also coming soon.

Today ZoTheJerk hops on our Freestyle Friday series today as the first emcee to spit without an instrumental or beat behind him. The gutsy move paid off, and we see him come correct with a series of quick, hard hitting bars. Check it out above and preorder his upcoming album here.
