The Philadelphia Eagles recently celebrated a big victory in winning the Super Bowl, but this is not the only win the city has had in the past few months. Philly’s own, PnB Rock, released his official debut studio album on Atlantic Records in mid-November. The platinum-selling artist brings a unique sound to the hip-hop landscape. He is from a rough neighborhood, and often speaks on his struggles and upbringing with mesmerizing melodies. He is fearless in his constant bending of hip-hop and R&B, often combining the two genres in a way that has never been done before.
His debut studio album, Catch These Vibes, featured some of the biggest artists in the world in acts like Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Yachty, and others. More than the impressive features, he toys with a sound that is uniquely mainstream and yet authentic in its catchy nature. His unrivaled vocal quality is nowhere to be found on today’s hip-hop radio, but he doesn’t stray away from toying with different sounds. He has tracks with real raps, bangers, and soulful cuts on Catch These Vibes, leaving every type of fan satisfied. The versatility he shows off of this album is incomparable to anyone doing the numbers that he is, and he is ready to show this off to fans in person. PnB Rock is hitting the road this month for a nationwide tour.
Apex Hip Hop should be covering the Eugene, Oregon show at the McDonald Theatre, so stay tuned for further concert coverage. Click here to check out a more in-depth piece on PnB Rock‘s incomparable potential and sound.
